BLACK MAMBA
Black Mamba is the perfect embodiment of remontant fury as a refined crossing of opposite poles. It is capable of both clarity and beautiful dissonant compositions and prepares increased experimentation.
The uppercase typeface of Black Mamba comes from the Lab department of Swiss Typefaces and was designed to complement the SangBleu family. Designer Liudmila Bredikhina has created a series of new characters that have made the merging of these two typefaces possible. On one side is SangBleu Sunrise Air, a hairline fine sans serif typeface; on the other is SangBleu Empire Bold, a high-contrast serif typeface in the Didot tradition. (The Didot is a typeface that finds much use in fashion magazines).
The result is energetic serpentine forms and an excitingly cacophonous text image alongside the businesslike forms. It has the potential to unleash experimental energies in typography. From somber to graceful, from kitschy to classy. With this polarization united in itself, this type stands for itself and demands attention, just like the remontant fury.
